Experience the Difference
The MOST Thorough cares for the finest to the most basic rugs from around the world.
We will pick your rug up and bring it to our special cleaning plant where it will receive our very thorough Eight Step Cleaning System to get maximum soil and spot removal. Having your rug cleaned in our plant allows us to give it several treatments for a more thorough cleaning, controlled drying, and the use of various tools that are not available on location.
Potentially lasting for generations, fine area rugs are often considered to be works of art. In order to protect your rug’s condition, appearance and value, it needs to be professionally washed every 2-3 years as part of a regular maintenance schedule. The Most Thorough guarantees to provide the best cleaning and customer service in the business.
We specialize in caring for contemporary, antique and semi-antique hand-woven area rugs, this includes hand repairing them. A full-immersion wash is what is recommended for natural fiber rugs.
Regular professional cleanings protect your investment and your family’s health. They greatly extend the life of your rug and leave it looking like new. Over time, your rugs can become filled with dirt, mites, bacteria, fleas and mold. Once cleaned, it will no longer contain these abrasive and harmful pollutants. These periodic cleanings will greatly improve your home’s air quality, allowing people with allergen sensitivities to breathe easier.
We are certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, and we are members of the Carpet and FabriCare Institute. To maintain affiliation with these prestigious organizations, we must continue to meet specific standards of quality and professionalism. In addition to operating ethically with integrity and honesty, our technicians use high-end cleaning products and advanced technology to ensure maximum cleanliness and safety.

Our New Eight Step Cleaning System
Step 1: Pre-Inspection
We will determine as much as we possibly can about the type of rug and inherent qualities that may affect cleaning. We will outline the expected results and cleaning “prescription”. Our company will come to your home to pick up your rug, or you may drop it by our shop.
Step 2: Dry Soil Removal
We use a variety of techniques to ‘dust’ the rugs from the front and back, including our new, state-of-the-art Tumble Duster. We also use compressed air, a pile lifter, and special vacuum attachments to remove dry soil from your rug.
Step 3: Pre-Condition
Depending on fiber content and soiling type, the rug will be pre-treated to emulsify the soils.
Step 4: Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation
Any potentially difficult spots will be pre-treated with special solutions to increase chances of removal. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal.
Step 5: Wash
Our new and improved washtub will clean your rugs gently and thoroughly. It consists of paddle wheels, which mimic the gentle motion of hand and river washing. Soil is effectively removed by the gentle, turbulent flow of the wash water without the use of brushes or other mechanical forces that could damage rug fibers. Our rug washing solutions not only provide a thorough cleaning, but they ensure that cross contamination and dye transfer is impossible during the washing process.
Step 6: Rinse
This new machine is one of the most successful rug-wringers in the world. It removes over 90% of moisture from rugs in 3 minutes or less. It allows heavy and dense textiles to be processed quickly and efficiently. Additionally, it is an exceptional tool for removing urine and other contaminants from rugs. Using a combination of centrifugal force, water irrigation, and effective chemistry, contaminants are flushed out of rugs better than any other method!
Step 7: Dry and Finish
Once the rug is removed from the centrifuge, it is hung for final drying in a controlled environment. When the rug is dry, it is combed and finished with soft groomers made for specialty rugs.
Step 8: Post Inspection
Our cleaning specialist will give the rug a final inspection and release it for pick up or delivery. Your rug will be wrapped in brown craft paper to protect it from dust and environmental soils until it is picked up or delivered. Upon delivery, we will lay the rug for you.
