Our 8-Step Cleaning System

In-plant rug cleaning is recommended for Oriental Rugs and loose woven rugs. The MOST Thorough cares for the finest to the most basic rugs from around the world.

We will pick your rug up and bring it to our special cleaning plant where it will undergo our 8-step cleaning system to get maximum soil and spot removal. Having your rug cleaned in our plant allows us to give it several treatments for more thorough cleaning, controlled drying, and access to various tools available only on location.

Step 1: Pre-Inspection: We identify the type of rug we’re working with and the inherent qualities that may affect cleaning. We will outline the expected results and cleaning instructions. We’ll come to your home to pick up the rug, or you can drop it by our shop.  

Step 2: Dry Soil Removal: We use a variety of techniques to ‘dust’ the rugs from the front and back, including the use of our new state-of-the-art Tumble Duster. We also use compressed air, a pile lifter, and special vacuum attachments to remove dry soil from your rug.

Step 3: Pre-Condition: Depending on fiber content and soiling type, the rug will be pre-treated to emulsify the soils.

Step 4: Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation: Any potentially difficult spots will be pre-treated with special solutions. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal.

Step 5: Wash: Our new and improved washtub will clean your rugs gently and thoroughly. It consists of paddle wheels, which mimic the gentle motion of hand and river washing. Soil is effectively removed by the gentle, turbulent flow of the wash water without the use of brushes or other mechanical forces that could damage rug fibers. Our rug washing solutions not only provide a thorough cleaning, but they ensure that cross contamination and dye transfer is prevented during the washing process.

Step 6: Rinse: This new machine removes over 90% of moisture from rugs in 3 minutes or less. It allows heavy and dense textiles to be processed quickly and efficiently. Additionally, it is an exceptional tool for removing urine and other contaminants from rugs. Using a combination of centrifugal force, water irrigation, and effective chemistry, contaminants are flushed out of rugs better than any other method!

Step 7: Dry and Finish: Once the rug is removed from the centrifuge, it is hung for final drying in a controlled environment. When the rug is dry, it is combed and finished with soft groomers made for specialty rugs.
